FirePlace Mantle
The wife has been requesting a mantel for the fireplace for some time now, and I have.. Of course.. agreed to build it. Obviously this can not just be any old mantel.. For if that where the case I’d just buy one. Nope this bad boy must serve multi-functions. hehehehe
You see our den is layed out so that the fireplace is the focal-point of the room. Sooo this is where the TV and surround-sound should be located. Right?… well of course it is.
With that being said I set out last year…(hmmm errr well Nov. of 07) and I bought a 42” Plasma TV and placed it above the fireplace. Fully intending to build a mantle to hide all the wires and have a place for the center channel speaker. Seems some other projects took precedence to getting a mantle built. Par for the course. So here we are in 2009 and I now have plans ready for the “Great Mantle Build”. Hopefully I can carve out a few days in the coming weeks and get this thing started.
